The Fluke 424D is our most sophisticated laser distance meter packed with versatile features to save you more time in more situations and reduce errors. Just point and click to instantly measure up to 100 meters (330 ft.), accurate to + 1 mm. No scales to interpret or misread. The extra bright laser supports easy targeting even at longer distances. Extra features like a 180º inclination sensor, the corner angle feature, and a built-in compass make it easy to get accurate measurements in hard-to-reach locations. You'll be able to see the results more clearly on the large, four-line backlit display. No matter your job, the 424D laser distance meter will help you do the work of two people on your own.

What about measuring a roof. Is there a point and click to set start and end points? There is nothing to reflect at end of roof.

Rated 5 out of 5 by Kirk from Awesome distance meter with a wealth of features Really an awesome distance meter with an incredible array of advanced measuring and internal calculation features. Relatively intuitive interface makes it easy to use, though you still will need the handy reference card to remind yourself about seldom used features. Battery life has been excellent, I am still on the same set of batteries after my purchase over 3 years ago. Bright, large, easy to ready display...and this thing even has a built in electronic compass! As will all Fluke products that I own, this meter is ruggedly built and will definitely survive a drop or two. Highly recommended, and if you can, go ahead and get this model with all of the advanced features...they have cheaper models, but since Flukes are lifetime tools, go ahead and buy the top of the line model if you can manage it.

I bought the 424D because I've taken on projects that require getting quick, accurate measurements of our large RV manufacturing facilities. The visible memory measurements, pythagoras, area, and volume measurements are the features I use mostly.
This products has saved me many hours. A recent measurement job took 15 minutes with the 424D. With a tape measure it would've taken 4 hours.
At home, I still carry a measuring tape, but the 424D has a permanent spot on my tool belt.
Our Industrial Engineer liked the 424D so much that he is planning to order one in the coming months.
I've owned Fluke products before, but after using the 424D, I'll only be looking at Fluke, from here on, for precision tools.
