Rated 5 out of 5 by from Bulletproof...well, close. I purchased this meter back in March while I was working in an automotive R&D test facility. I have had several DMMs, but usually a splash of diesel or a hard drop would kill them. I finally splurged and went with a meter that I knew I'd be happy with, and I'm glad I did. I can rinse this off if it gets something nasty on it, and now at my new position in an aerospace R&D group, it's still trusted enough to be allowed through calibration and is my go-to for quick measurements.

Rated 5 out of 5 by from solid meter in more ways that one Finally took the plunge and bought a Fluke... very glad I did. Never going back to the cheap $20 ones that are unreliable and tend to break with any abuse. I was leaning towards the 87V, but ended up buying this one instead as it is built like a TANK. I work in the industrial water industry so the added protection sealed the deal for me. Accuracy, features, longevity... all things you expect from a Fluke are demonstrated here. Great product.

Rated 4 out of 5 by from Battery issue As is written below - the same issue: “Have had the Fluke 28II for over a 2 years. Had a problem from the start when you tried to use the beeper in the continuity mode, the battery would be displayed on screen. Saying the battery was low.” You need to remove the bottom hood (6 screws battery hood and another six screws for bottom DMM hood). Then you can see the beeper on the opposite side of display. You need only add some resistor (47-56R) in serial to the beeper. For fix you must remove the beeper – there are connected 3pin together and one pin separately. You must use campton tape between the PAD on PCB, and then connect it through resistor. That’s easy and fully working – of course the volume comes down a little, but I doesn’t matter and battery issue disappear. Radek

Rated 5 out of 5 by from GREAT METER Have had the Fluke 28II for over a 2 years. What a Great Meter. Had a problem from the start when you tried to use the beeper in the continuity mode, the battery would be displayed on screen. Saying the battery was low. Other that the meter worked great. Just sent in they fixed that problem and calibrated the meter. What a GREAT PRODUCT AND COMPANY. Thank you Fluke

Rated 5 out of 5 by from KLUTZ! I was thinking of buying an 87V but decided to try the mil-spec "heavy duty" version of the 87V; the FLUKE 28||. Mind you this was only the second VOM meter I ever purchased & the most expensive thus far, so I was afraid of even getting it dirty. While performing maintenance on a commercial building I had an incident. I didn't have it for a week before the klutz in me took over & the meter did a peter-pan out of my grasp, bounced off the roof access ladder & in my horror I watched helplessly as my FLUKE 28|| plummeted in slow motion thirty feet before smacking into solid concrete. After finding no exterior damage I turned it on & to my astonishment it worked! The only thing I can find wrong with it is the loud beeper is silent, I have the T5-600 if I really need to make some continuity noise. I know I should have the meter properly calibrated to make sure it's still accurate but I tested it on some known electrical effects & it's accurate enough for me right now. as for the beeper... I don't miss it. If it was any other meter besides the FLUKE 28||, I assure you it would've involved a broom & dustpan!
